Recycled Greeting Card Box

This is an easy craft you can make to reuse and recycle greeting cards you receive.
Use these for/as:

  • Small gift boxes
  • Drawer dividers
  • Craft supplies
  • Children’s items
  • Jewelry
  • Ponytail holders, barrettes, hair clips, etc.
  • Office supplies
  • ...and more!
Here’s how to make a box from old greeting cards:
  1. Cut off the cover of a greeting card. Trim to desired size.
  2. Fold up an equal amount on each side, such as one inch (solid blue lines).
  3. Flatten. Cut a slit in each corner (red dashed lines).
  4. Fold the sides up and wrap the tabs. Tape, staple or glue to secure.
  5. To make a lid for the box, use an equal size greeting card (or use the other half of the original). Follow step 2, and then trim a small amount (1/4 inch) off all sides before continuing to steps 3 and 4.
